Matthew Harney is a seasoned regulatory chemist with a focus on organic, organometallic, and polymer chemistry, as well as materials science. Since January 2011, Matthew has worked at Keller and Heckman LLP, specializing in chemical control laws across various jurisdictions, including the US (TSCA), EU (REACH), Canada (CEPA), and Australia (AICIS). Prior to this position, Matthew served as a Senior Chemist at SAIC from January 2009 to January 2011, where responsibilities included explosives analysis and the development of standoff chemical sensors. Earlier experience includes a role as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Naval Research Laboratory from August 2007 to December 2008, focusing on chemical/biological weapons defense and nanomaterials. Matthew holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Maryland and a BS in Chemistry from George Mason University.
