Jayson Lewis focuses his practice on privacy and data security, advertising and marketing, and other consumer protection matters.
Jayson joined the firm from LinkedIn, where he was senior privacy counsel. At LinkedIn, he provided legal and strategic advice and support on a broad range of privacy issues, with a focus on compliance with U.S. state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and the privacy aspects of digital advertising. He also responded to inquiries from data protection authorities around the world.
Prior to joining LinkedIn, Jayson was associate general counsel, privacy at Nielsen. While there, he advised on privacy issues on a global scale, with a particular emphasis on compliance with U.S. and international data protection and privacy laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as well as privacy issues related to advertising technology and online tracking. He also regularly drafted and negotiated privacy and data security provisions in contracts, drafted privacy notices and other consumer-facing disclosures, and advised on data breaches and security incidents.
Earlier in his career, Jayson worked at PwC and Deloitte, where he focused on privacy and data protection issues.
Jayson is a Certified Information Privacy Professional for the United States (CIPP/US) and Europe (CIPP/E) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
