Dr. Malek Abdelqader is general manager of Kemin Biologics, the company’s newest business unit focused on reducing the use of antibiotics by developing animal vaccines as the first line of defense against disease. Dr. Abdelqader assumed his current role in 2020.
Dr. Abdelqader spent a decade with Kemin Industries before becoming general manager of Kemin Biologics. He joined Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health – EMENA (Europe, Middle East, North Africa) as a technical services manager for the ruminant business in the Middle East and North Africa. Three years later, he was promoted to area sales manager for the Gulf States and Levant region. In 2016, Dr. Abdelqader became regional sales manager for the Middle East, eventually adding Russia to his territory. He most recently served as commercial director for the Middle East and Russia.
Dr. Abdelqader received his bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine from Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2000. He earned his master’s degree in animal science from McGill University in Canada and completed his doctorate in animal science at South Dakota State University in 2009. Dr. Abdelqader stayed on at the university as a post-doctoral research associate before moving to University of Alberta in the same capacity.
