Jonathan Strahl

Jonathan Strahl has a diverse work experience with expertise in machine learning and AI. Jonathan is currently working at Kemira as a Machine Learning Engineering Lead, where they lead the development of MLOps processes and platforms and creates advanced data-driven applications. Prior to this, they worked at MiCROTEC - Innovating Wood as a Lead Machine Learning Specialist, where they developed machine learning solutions for the forestry industry. Jonathan also worked at Academy of Finland as a Doctoral Student, focusing on probabilistic machine learning research. Jonathan has also held positions at Huawei Cloud Europe, Testhouse Enko Oy, Axel Health, Aalto University School of Science and Technology, Framgo Ltd, Credit Suisse, and FDM Group, where they gained expertise in various roles related to machine learning, software engineering, and development.

Jonathan Strahl has a strong educational background in computer science and data mining. Jonathan completed their Phd in Computer Science at Aalto University from 2015 to 2024. Prior to that, they pursued an MSc in Machine Learning and Data Mining at Aalto University from 2011 to 2015. Jonathan also holds a BSc in Multimedia and Digital Systems from the University of Sussex, which they obtained between 2000 and 2003. Additionally, they achieved a Distinction in Computer Studies from Hastings College of Arts and Technology between 1998 and 2000.
