Joseph Kempel

Joseph Kempel is a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer currently employed at Kenall Lighting since December 2019, having progressed through various engineering roles. Prior to this, Joseph contributed to Northern Illinois University as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, supporting courses on robotic manipulators and mechatronic systems, and conducting research in the Emergent & Autonomous Systems Laboratory from January 2016 to December 2019. Earlier experience includes a role as Production Manager in the Department of Student Leadership and Involvement Development at Northern Illinois University from August 2011 to May 2015, overseeing event coordination and staff training. Joseph Kempel holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Dynamic Systems and Control, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in Mechatronics, both from Northern Illinois University.
