Harriet O'Brien

Harriet O'Brien is an experienced engineer in materials science currently working at Kennametal since October 2023. O'Brien also serves as a Numerade computer programming educator since November 2019. Previous experience includes research assistant roles in computational materials science and the polymer materials group at Carnegie Mellon University from August 2017 to May 2020, alongside serving as a computing services assistant within the Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy during the same period. Additionally, O'Brien was a counselor and teaching assistant at SigmaCamp from August 2016 to August 2017, where STEM-oriented workshops were organized and taught. Prior experience includes conducting molecular and cellular pharmacology research at Stony Brook University from May 2015 to August 2016. O'Brien holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, completed from 2016 to 2020.
