Amie Bettencourt

Amie Bettencourt serves as an Associate Professor at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, focusing on mental health promotion for children in disadvantaged environments through research on disruptive behavior problems. Simultaneously, Amie is a Licensed Clinical Child Psychologist at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, providing therapy and leading parenting skills groups. Involved with the Chicago Parent Program since March 2016, Amie trains providers in evidence-based parenting skills. Previously, Amie held various roles including Project Director at the Fund for Educational Excellence, where oversight of a parenting intervention project was conducted, and adjunct professor positions at Notre Dame of Maryland University and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Amie's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Clinical Child Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University and a B.S. in Psychobiology from UCLA.
