Christina Nemeth Mertz

Christina Nemeth Mertz is an accomplished professional in the field of neuroscience with extensive experience in academia and research. Since 2018, Christina has held roles at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, including Assistant Professor, Research Associate, and Staff Research Scientist. Additionally, Christina has been an Assistant Professor of Neurology at The Johns Hopkins University since November 2021, and previously served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Johns Hopkins University from February 2015 to July 2018. Christina's graduate studies at Emory University focused on the relationship between cerebral vasculature and affective states, specifically exploring neuroimmune mechanisms. Christina began the research journey at McLean Hospital, where roles included Laboratory Technician and Research Technician, focusing on psychiatric research and the effects of drug exposure and gene alterations in animal models. Christina earned a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Emory University and a B.A. in Neuroscience from Hamilton College.
