Laura McKay

Laura McKay is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in claims handling and professional liability. Currently serving as a Senior Claims Handler at Kennedys since August 2019, Laura actively manages financial lines claims—including professional indemnity, financial institutions, commercial, cyber, and warranty & indemnity—utilizing both ECF and other claims management systems. Previous roles include an Associate specializing in defending professional negligence for various professionals and their insurers, along with several positions such as Trainee Solicitor with a focus on claims handling and liability. Laura's foundational experience includes roles as a Health Care Assistant at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Paralegal and Legal Secretary across multiple law firms, and various positions emphasizing legal and community service. Laura holds an LPC with an MSc in Law and Business from The University of Law, alongside a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of the West of England.
