Michael Morton has a diverse work experience in various positions. Michael began their career as a Senior Project Manager at the Georgia State Finance & Investment Commission in 2007. In this role, they managed over $100 million in state-funded construction contracts and conducted training for upper management and project managers. In 2015, they moved to the University of West Georgia as the Assistant Director of Facilities, where they had professional leadership in managing building trade operations and maintenance. Michael then transitioned to Kennesaw State University in 2016 as the Director of Engineering.

Michael Morton earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Memphis in the years 1992 to 1997. Michael later obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Construction Management from Southern Polytechnic State University, attending from 2007 to 2010. In 2017 to 2018, Michael pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Business Administration and Management, General, from Kennesaw State University. Additionally, they obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in June 2010.
