Programs feature learning through projects based on the types of issues, problems and typical work found in those careers. We emphasize employability skills, and expect high standards, so our students stand out to colleges and in the job market. Our 20+ programs are designed to prepare students for careers and advanced study, which ranges from college degrees to apprenticeships, technical training and certifications. Most of our students earn free college credit for their work here. Some students graduate with a semester or even a year of college already finished – free. Each year, our students earn about $1,000,000 worth of free college credit. The Tech Center also has great business connections, with about 300 area business people leading our advisory councils to help keep both our content and equipment up to date. These industry experts also offer opportunities to students for job shadows, on-site work experiences and internships. Our programs cover hundreds of careers and in fields that command both high skills and high wages, with promising futures. We serve more than 2300 high school juniors and seniors every day from all across Kent and Barry counties -- from more than 60 sending schools.
