Amir Chahardehi is a seasoned structural engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas sector and academia. Currently serving as Chief Structural Engineer at Kent since July 2021, Amir has held various leadership roles including Senior Principal Engineer and Technical Lead. During a tenure at Cranfield University from 2008 to 2024, Amir contributed as a Visiting Lecturer and served as an Industrial Advisor to the REMS Centre for Doctoral Training, focusing on structural integrity and advanced engineering concepts. Previously, Amir was a Principal Engineer and Technical Lead at Atkins, managing significant offshore structures projects, and held roles as a Senior Engineer and Fatigue and Fracture Mechanics Engineer at UCL NDE Centre. Amir holds multiple advanced degrees, including a PhD in Fatigue Crack Growth from Cranfield University, an MSc with distinction in Advanced Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London, and ongoing postgraduate studies in Academic Practice.
