Seán Sweeney has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of industrial design. Seán started their career as a Product Designer at JAB Design Consultancy in 2001 and later worked as a Product/Industrial Designer from 2003 to 2005 in the same company, where they led the development of various consumer and industrial projects.
From 2005 to 2011, Seán joined Stanley Black & Decker as a Senior Industrial Designer, where they played a crucial role in the global design team, collaborating with Engineering and Marketing departments to create new products for international markets.
In 2011, they moved to PDR International Centre for Design and Research as a Senior Industrial Designer. In this role, they were responsible for the conceptual, aesthetic, and ergonomic aspects of all projects, working with a multidisciplinary team.
Since 2013, Seán has been associated with Kenwood Limited, starting as a Senior Industrial Designer and currently holding the position of Lead Industrial Designer. Seán manages the design of the Food Preparation Category and ensures the visual direction and consumer perception of the products.
Throughout their career, Seán has demonstrated expertise in visual theme creation, concept development, surfacing, part modeling, and visualization. Seán has also provided guidance to team members and maintained the original design intent throughout project development.
From 1997 to 1999, Seán Sweeney attended Alcester Grammar School, but did not obtain a degree. Seán then attended Nottingham Trent University from 1999 to 2003, where they received a BA Hons in Furniture and Product Design.
