Gary Hambling

Gary Hambling has over 30 years of experience in the railway industry. Gary started their career in 1986 with British Rail and Bombardier, where they held various technician and managerial roles until 1999. Gary then joined Angel Trains as a Key Account Manager from 1999 to 2003. Following this, they worked at Virgin Trains as the Head of Engineering from 2003 to 2014. Currently, they are the Group Engineering Director at Keolis Downer, where they have been since 2014.

Gary Hambling has a strong educational background in engineering. Gary completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Mayflower Secondary School between 1981 and 1986. Following this, they pursued further education at the University of Bradford from 1991 to 1994, earning a degree in engineering. In 2013, Gary Hambling obtained a Bachelor's degree in Railways as a Chartered Engineer.
