Aija Suntioinen

Aija Suntioinen is a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience in healthcare finance. Currently serving as Chief Financial Officer for Keski-Suomen hyvinvointialue since January 2023, Aija previously held the CFO position at Keski-Suomen sairaanhoitopiiri (KSSHP) from 2004 to December 2022, overseeing financial management, strategic planning, budgeting, and investment activities in Finland's largest non-university hospital district. Prior roles include leadership positions in management accounting and reporting, invoicing, and financial planning at Keski-Suomen Sairaalakahviot Oy, as well as project research roles at Vapo Oy from 2002 to 2004, focusing on financial reporting and cost accounting. Aija holds a Master’s Degree in Business and Economics from the University of Jyväskylä and further education from the University of Eastern Finland.
