Brent Ridley

Founder and CEO at Kestrel Materials

Brent Ridley began their career in 1996 as a Scientist at ArQule. In 2001 they became a Founder and Scientist at Kovio, where they developed silicon ink for low cost printed semiconductor devices. From 2007 to 2014, they were a Professor at Biola University, teaching General Chemistry I and II, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Materials Chemistry. Brent also helped prepare and place students in top ten graduate programs, and developed the initial curriculum for the Science Honors Program. In 2014, they became a Senior Research Scientist at Otherlab, where they were the principal investigator for a Department of Energy research program developing materials for passive thermally-adaptive textiles. In 2017, they founded Skyscrape, a company that makes temperature-responsive insulating fabrics.

Brent Ridley attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1993 to 2003, where they earned a BS, MS, and PhD in Chemistry & Materials Science at the Media Lab.
