Salma Elhandaoui has a diverse work experience. Currently, they serve as a Participant Check-In Manager, Open Mic Manager, Zero Waste Collaborator, and Ferry Landing/Directional Staff at The Poetry Society of New York. SALMA is also an Investigative Reporter at City Limits, where they receive hands-on experience in reporting and news writing. Additionally, they work as a Youth Representative/Advocate at UNICEF, advocating for key issues affecting communities. Salma is actively involved in Key Club International, serving as a Visual Media Committee Member, Fundraising Committee Member, Key Club Member and Volunteer, and Events Committee Member. SALMA has also been a part of Girls Write Now as a Writing 360 Mentee and Civics Unplugged as a Student Fellow. Other experiences include working as a Script Writer, Sound Engineer, and Social Media Manager at PARAEDU, and being a Mock Trial/Moot Court participant at the NYC Department of Education. Salma is also an Environmental Activist and the founder of the Change For Climate Change campaign, aimed at educating and raising awareness about climate change.
Salma Elhandaoui attended Edward R. Murrow High School from 2020 to 2023, where they focused on Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies, and Humanities. In addition, they enrolled in John Jay College (CUNY) from 2021 to 2022, studying Criminology (Criminal Justice). Salma also participated in dual enrollment programs at Hunter College and Kingsborough Community College during the same period. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a certification in Autism Education from Luv Michael in March 2022.
