Shankar Subramanian has a diverse and extensive work experience in finance and planning roles. Shankar started their career as an Industrial Trainee at SPIC in 1998. Shankar then worked as an Accountant General at Bridgestone from 1999 to 2002. At Trane, they held the position of Senior Financial Analyst from 2002 to 2006, where they managed forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning processes. Shankar then joined Ericsson as a Finance Controller from 2006 to 2010, responsible for financial reporting, planning, and analysis activities in the Middle East region. At Cummins Inc., they worked as the Director of Financial Planning Analysis, supporting global purchasing and driving cost-saving initiatives. Shankar also served as the ABO Finance Director, managing month close, planning, and forecasting activities. From 2020 to 2023, Shankar Subramanian worked at Honeywell as a Director of Finance, responsible for driving and improving the FP&A process for a $10 billion business. Currently, they hold the position of VP of Finance at Key Technology since 2023.

Shankar Subramanian has a comprehensive education background in various fields. Shankar completed their Bachelor of Commerce (B.COM) degree at the University of Madras from 1993 to 1996. Later, they pursued an accounting qualification and obtained their Cost Accountants of India (CWA Grad) degree from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India between 1994 and 1998. Shankar continued their education in accounting and finance by completing their Chartered Accountants of India (ACA) degree at The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, spanning from 1996 to 1999.

In 2004 and 2005, Shankar Subramanian pursued further specialization in internal audit and attained a Certified Internal Audit (CIA) degree from Certified Internal Audit, Illinois. Continuing their focus on accounting and finance, in 2006 and 2007, they obtained the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification from the Indiana State Board of Accountancy.

To enhance their general management skills, Shankar Subramanian pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in General Management at the Indian School of Business from 2013 to 2014.
