Bernie van Welt

Bernie van Welt has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Starting in 1985 with Philips, they worked as a System Developer/Software Engineer and later transitioned into the role of a System Analyst/Software Engineer. Bernie then worked at Turnkiek as a System Architect/Project leader, where they handled various software development projects.

In 1996, Bernie joined Fico/Besi Semiconductor as a Software Development Project Manager before moving on to Applicare Medical Imaging as a Software Engineering Manager. Bernie was responsible for managing the software development, test, and support departments.

In 1999, Bernie joined GE Healthcare through the acquisition of Applicare Medical Imaging. Bernie held multiple roles at GE Healthcare, including Software Engineering Manager and later General Manager/Senior Software Engineering Manager. Bernie supervised product management, product development, testing, and support for radiology and cardiology diagnostic workstations and archive solutions.

In 2011, Bernie joined I-Optics B.V. as the COO, overseeing product management, product development, manufacturing, delivery, and support for a retina scanner. Bernie later moved to Forcare, serving as the COO and Senior Software Engineering Manager. Bernie managed various aspects of the company, including product management, project management, support, QA/RA, and internal IT.

During their time at Philips, Bernie served as the Operations and Software Engineering Director at Forcare/Philips, responsible for ensuring secure and standardized patient data and image exchange between healthcare organizations.

From 2018 to 2019, Bernie worked at ScaleUpNation as the Program Director. Bernie was in charge of the design and delivery of the Flight program, which supported young, innovative ventures in scaling their businesses.

Most recently, Bernie joined Keylane in 2020. Bernie held positions as Director Product Development Axon, Director DevOps P&C, and currently serves as the VP DevOps P&C. Bernie played a pivotal role in the development of the Axon product and is now responsible for leading DevOps processes in the property and casualty division.
