Senior Technical Lead - Machine Intelligence at KeyMe Locksmiths

Connor McLean has worked in a variety of roles in the engineering and technology fields. In 2022, they began working as a Computer Vision Engineer for KeyMe Locksmiths, where they designed, tested, and implemented computer vision algorithms for object detection and feature recognition using Python, OpenCV, and TensorFlow. Connor also developed and deployed cloud-based models at large using Kubernetes, Docker, and TensorFlow-serving and maintained and updated existing algorithms to be more robust to failing hardware. In 2021, they began working as a Machine Learning/Computer Vision Engineer for Synthetik Applied Technologies, where they used ML algorithms for real-world applications such as machine vision object detection, tracking, segmentation, and classification. In 2019, they began working as a Robotics Software Engineer for Rocky Mountain Scientific Laboratory, where they designed and constructed custom Additive Manufacturing machines, software, and materials. In 2018, they began working as a PhD Candidate and Graduate Research Assistant at the Colorado School of Mines, where they programmed sensing and controls software and developed data acquisition software and visualization tools. In 2017, they worked as an Engineering Intern for Advanced Circuits, where they created an automation system which autonomously designed a multilayer PCB. In 2016, they worked as a Sales and Repairs for Elevation Cycles, where they assisted in bicycle assembly and communicated with customers to choose a bike that best matched their needs and capabilities.

Connor McLean's education history includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, which they obtained between 2015 and 2018. Connor then earned their Master of Science in Advanced Manufacturing from the same school in 2020. Prior to this, they attended Clackamas High School between 2010 and 2014. Connor is also currently pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Colorado School of Mines. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in NINJA Certified from Trek Bicycle in 2016, Certified Solidworks Associate, Paragliding Certified from the United States Hang Gliding & Paragliding Association, Inc., and Scuba Diving Open Water Certified.
