Emmarie Huetteman is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in health policy and political reporting. Currently serving as a Senior Editor at KFF Health News since December 2017, Emmarie oversees the weekly policy news podcast "What the Health?" and is the digital editor for the investigative series "Bill of the Month" in collaboration with The Washington Post. Prior roles include Associate Washington Editor and Correspondent, where coverage focused on national health policy issues from Congress. Emmarie's background includes reporting for The New York Times on congressional matters and investigations related to the 2016 election, along with international reporting on the refugee crisis as an Arthur F. Burns Fellow. Emmarie has further enhanced journalistic skills through fellowships at the National Press Foundation and has a solid foundation in investigative reporting from participation in projects at Northwestern University and Michigan Radio. Emmarie holds a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan.
