John Hillkirk is an accomplished journalist and editor with extensive experience in investigative reporting and editorial management. Currently serving as Senior Editor for Enterprise Projects at KFF Health News, John oversees the investigative/database team. Previously, John held multiple pivotal roles at USA TODAY, including Managing Editor for Investigations, Editor in Chief, Executive Editor, and Managing Editor for the Money section, where leadership resulted in award-winning journalism and innovative multimedia storytelling. Additionally, John co-authored three influential books on business and management, including "Xerox: American Samurai," recognized as one of the "10 Best Books of the Year" by Business Week. Early in the career, John reported on technology and business for outlets such as the Rochester Times-Union and Valley News Dispatch. John earned a Bachelor’s degree in English from Allegheny College.
