Dr. Rohit Kandakatla

Dr. Rohit Kandakatla has extensive experience in the field of engineering education. Dr. Rohit currently serves as the Director of Strategy, Human Resource Development, and International Affairs at KG Reddy College of Engineering and Technology, a role they have held since September 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Strategy, Operations, and Human Resource Management at the same institution from June 2019 to September 2022.

Dr. Kandakatla has also held various leadership positions in renowned organizations. Dr. Rohit was an Adjunct Faculty at KLE Technological University - Hubballi (India) starting from August 2019. Dr. Rohit is currently an Executive Committee Member of the Global Engineering Deans Council (GEDC), starting from December 2022, and a Governing Body Member of the Research in Engineering Education Network, starting from February 2023.

In terms of research experience, Dr. Kandakatla worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at IIIT Hyderabad's Raj Reddy Center for Technology and Society from January 2022 to December 2022. Prior to that, they were a Research Assistant at Purdue University's School of Engineering Education from August 2016 to May 2019.

Dr. Kandakatla has also made significant contributions to the engineering education community. Dr. Rohit served as the Division Chair of the Student Division at the American Society for Engineering Education from June 2018 to June 2019. Dr. Rohit was the Vice President of Student Engagement at the International Federation for Engineering Education Societies from September 2015 to November 2017.

In addition, Dr. Kandakatla co-founded Footsteps, an organization that provided workshops and training programs to address challenges in engineering education systems. Dr. Rohit served as the Co-Founder of Footsteps from January 2015 to August 2017.

Furthermore, Dr. Kandakatla played a key role in the Student Platform for Engineering Education Development (SPEED). Dr. Rohit held multiple positions within the organization, including Global President from December 2014 to November 2016, Indian President from September 2012 to December 2014, and Internal Affairs Officer from September 2013 to November 2014. In these roles, they were responsible for leading the organization, coordinating activities, maintaining partnerships, and conducting workshops.

Dr. Rohit Kandakatla received their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Engineering Education from Purdue University in 2019. Dr. Rohit obtained their Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology in 2013, and their Master's degree in Embedded Systems from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in 2015. Prior to that, they completed their Intermediate Education with a focus on Maths, Physics and Chemistry at FIITJEE Junior College from 2007 to 2009, and their Secondary Education at St Andrew's High School from 1997 to 2007. Dr. Rohit Kandakatla also obtained several additional certifications, including "Managing Your Time, Money, and Career: MBA Insights for Undergraduates" from Coursera (2014), "An Introduction to Marketing" from Coursera Verified Certificates (2014), and "Spanish A1 Certification" from Manipal Center for European Studies (2011).
