Leah Cabrera-Marquez

Leah Cabrera-Marquez is an experienced educator and content creator in the field of social studies and civics. Currently serving as a Civics Content Fellow at Khan Academy since March 2023, Leah develops a middle school civics course and manages existing social studies courses. Previously, as a Content Specialist at Albert | Learn By Doing, Leah oversaw the creation of a high school Civics and American Government course and managed a team of over 30 educators. Leah's early tenure at Khan Academy included roles as a Humanities Content Creator, where content aligned with national standards was developed, and as a Government and Politics Content Fellow. Leah also taught 11th grade U.S. History at YES Prep Public Schools and worked at Teach For America, where budgeting and event organization were key responsibilities. Leah holds a degree from Rice University, earned in 2015.
