Karen Bouchard is a highly experienced mechanical engineer currently serving as a Staff Mechanical Engineer at Kidde Fire Systems since June 2017. In this role, Karen leads a new product development team focused on improving gaseous fire suppression systems while also supporting sustaining and value engineering initiatives across various product lines. As a subject matter expert in gaseous fire suppression systems and engineering development tools, expertise includes LabVIEW Testing Software, SolidWorks Flow Simulation, and Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) by NIST. Prior experience includes roles as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, and an intern at DEKA Research & Development, where responsibilities included designing and prototyping testing fixtures and mobile devices. Karen holds a Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Educational background also includes extensive Japanese language studies and completion of secondary education at Littleton High School.
