Santosh B.

Santosh B. has a long history of work experience in the data science and engineering fields. In 2022, they were appointed as the Vice President of Data Science at Good Parents Inc/Kiddo. Prior to this, they were the Director of Data Science at Nike from 2015 to 2021. During this time, they were responsible for leading the data science vision, strategy and execution for the Nike Sport Research Lab (NSRL), building and coaching a team of data scientists and engineers to leverage machine intelligence, causal modeling and simulation techniques to improve athletic performance and behavior. Additionally, they were the Principal Algorithm Engineer at Nike from 2015 to 2014.

From 2014 to 2011, Santosh B. was the Principal Data Scientist at Quanttus, where they developed sensor algorithms and analytics solutions for cardiovascular health and fitness monitoring. Santosh also defined data product/system requirements, led algorithms and software lifecycle, and guided deployment of models/algorithms on device and cloud.

From 2011 to 2008, Santosh B. was the Machine Learning Manager and Software/Firmware Engineering Manager at Nike. Santosh was responsible for leading internal and external engineering teams through algorithm and machine learning efforts for various Nike+ products and experiences.

From 2008 to 2007, Santosh B. was the Staff Engineer, Software and Electrical Engineering R&D at Stryker Medical, where they developed firmware and led the software lifecycle for the Prime Series.

From 2007 to 2006, Santosh B. worked as a Venture Analyst at USTAR, State of Utah. From 2006 to 2005, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at the Pain Research Center, University of Utah.

Finally, from 2005 to 2002, Santosh B. was a Student Associate/Consultant at the Lassonde New Venture Development Center, University of Utah. During this time, they co-founded ResCue Medical Systems and conducted market research, assessed commercial viability and helped develop strategy for various university technologies. Santosh was also a Graduate Research Assistant at the Anesthesia Bioengineering Laboratory, University of Utah, where they developed a multi-sensor just-in-time training system to aid novice caregivers in a cardiac emergency.

Santosh B. has an education history that includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Utah, a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Utah, and a B.E. in Electronics & Communication Engineering from the University of Madras. Additionally, Santosh B. has obtained various certifications from Coursera and DeepLearning.AI, including Convolutional Neural Networks, Deep Learning Specialization, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Introduction to Machine Learning in Production, Machine Learning, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, Sequence Models, and Structuring Machine Learning Projects.
