Carrey Wong has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Carrey started their career as a Summer Extern at the Los Angeles Superior Court in 2003. In 2004, they worked as a Law Clerk at the Asian Law Caucus and as a Civil Unit Extern at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. From 2005 to 2012, they were a Staff Attorney at Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County. In 2013, they joined the New York Asian Women's Center as a Legal Manager/Staff Attorney and later became the Assistant Director of Client Services. In 2016, they joined Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) as a Supervising Attorney for Pro Bono Programs. Carrey then served as the Managing Attorney in Newark before becoming the Acting Regional Director of Legal Services. Currently, they hold the position of Regional Director (West), Legal Services at KIND.
Carrey Wong completed a Juris Doctor (JD) degree in Law from the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings) from 2003 to 2005. Prior to that, Carrey attended Southwestern Law School in 2002, although no degree or field of study was specified. Carrey also obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science and Communications from UCLA from 1998 to 2002. Additionally, Carrey has received several certifications, including Bystander Training: From Bystander to Upstander, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging, Preventing Harassment in the Workplace, and One Justice Executive Fellowship, all in 2022.
