Gabriela Mendez is a highly experienced attorney specializing in immigration law. Currently serving as a Senior Immigration Attorney at Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) since November 2019, Gabriela previously held roles at the USF School of Law Immigration and Deportation Defense Clinic as a Staff Attorney and at Centro Legal de la Raza as a Detention Team Removal Defense Attorney. Gabriela's expertise includes managing removal cases, conducting Know Your Rights trainings for detainees, and representing clients in various court proceedings. Gabriela's legal career also includes fellowships with Asylum Access and Human Rights Advocates, along with an earlier position as Assistant to the Director of Education Affairs at Public Advocates. Gabriela holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in International/Global Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
