Silvia Ruiz

Silvia Ruiz currently serves as a Senior Attorney in Legal Training at Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) since June 2025, after holding the position of Staff Attorney from June 2020 to March 2025. In previous roles, Silvia developed legal toolkits and training materials on labor-related immigration relief and child labor exploitation. Prior experience includes serving as the Lead Researcher for the International Team at Dejusticia, where advocacy and policy projects for immigrant and refugee rights were managed across Latin America. Additional roles include a Public Service Venture Fund Legal Fellow focused on litigation strategies in Colombia, and various positions while studying at Harvard Law School, including a Student Attorney in the International Human Rights Clinic. Silvia received a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Texas A&M University.
