Sofia Lorenzo

Sofia Lorenzo has extensive experience in immigration law, currently serving as Managing Attorney at Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) since January 2016, where previous roles included Supervising Attorney, Senior Attorney, and Direct Representation Attorney. Prior to KIND, Sofia worked as an Immigration Attorney at Northern Virginia Family Service and as a WCL-JD Distinguished Fellow at Ayuda. Sofia's legal career began with positions at Ayuda, the WCL Immigrant Justice Clinic as a Student Attorney, and various internships with organizations such as the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia and the National Immigrant Women’s Advocacy Project. Sofia holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from American University Washington College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Latin American Studies from George Mason University.
