Melissa Firmes is a dedicated nonprofit leader and advocate with extensive experience in supporting children and families facing cancer and life-threatening illnesses. As the Cofounder and Executive Director of KiDS NEED MoRE since March 2012, Melissa has developed programs aimed at bringing joy and friendship to those in need. Melissa also serves as the President of the Copiague Chamber of Commerce, leading efforts to enhance the local business environment. Previous roles include Assistant Vice President at FEGS, teaching adjunct positions at Molloy College and Fordham University, and significant volunteer contributions with organizations such as the American Cancer Society and Comfort Zone Camp. Melissa holds a Master of Social Work from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor's degree in Special Education from St. Joseph's University, showcasing a commitment to social welfare and community service.
