Kristen B. Metzger

Kristen B. Metzger has a diverse range of work experience in the field of environmental education and science programming. Kristen B. began their career as a Marine Environmental Educator and Camp Instructor at the Port Townsend Marine Science Center in 2004. From there, they worked as an Environmental Specialist at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, where they collected and managed water-quality data and educated the public about watershed management.

In 2007, Kristen became the FIELD School Program Coordinator at Alaska Pacific University, where they developed outdoor, experientially-focused curriculum and managed program policies and procedures. Kristen B. then went on to work at the Musk Ox Farm as a Summer Camp Assistant Director and Tour Guide, where they created and delivered interpretive tours and implemented a pilot summer camp for young children.

Kristen's next role was at STAR Inc., where they served as an After-School Science Instructor, providing safe and educational science programming for students and practicing classroom management techniques. Kristen B. then joined the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County as a Gallery Interpreter, delivering interpretive programs for museum visitors and supporting program evaluation and assessment.

From 2012 to 2014, Kristen worked as the Coordinator of School Programs at the Natural History Museum, where they developed and implemented educational programs for students and educators and created resources for school groups. Following this, they joined TreePeople as a Senior Manager of Environmental Education, co-managing a county contract for environmental service learning projects and leading workshops for teachers and administrators.

Most recently, Kristen has been working at Kidspace Children's Museum as a Senior Manager of Play & Learning since 2017. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing play and learning initiatives within the museum.
