Torben Helfrich

Junior Research Fellow at Kiel Institute for the World Economy

Torben Helfrich is a research assistant in Climate Policy at the Kiel Institute for World Economy since February 2023. Previously, Torben completed an internship in Corporate Strategy and Sustainability at BASF in 2023 and gained experience in quantitative market research during an internship at YouGov in 2022. In 2022, Torben worked as a research assistant in Corporate Taxation at ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research, following an internship in the same field. Torben is pursuing a Master of Science in Environmental and Resource Economics at Kiel University and is currently engaged in a semester abroad at the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne. Torben holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Mannheim and completed a semester abroad at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Educational foundation includes Abitur and International Abitur from Liselotte Gymnasium Mannheim.
