Calvin Hu

Calvin Hu is an Electrical Engineer at Kiewit since January 2023, previously serving as a Grid Technology Intern at Evergy, where significant contributions included designing Python programs to enhance smart distribution grid management and automating data updates for field devices. Calvin also worked as an Analytics Engineering Intern at Seeq Corporation, predicting gearbox failures in wind turbines and optimizing data filtering. Earlier, Calvin held various roles at the University of Notre Dame, including positions as an Information Desk and Box Office Assistant and Event Assistant, alongside experience as a cashier, server, and dishwasher at Peking Chinese Restaurant. Calvin contributed to a carbon capture pilot plant at Imperial College London, developing operational procedures and conducting safety analyses. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Energy Systems from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
