Kanaka Raghavan

Kanaka Raghavan has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Kanaka currently holds the position of Senior Lecturer at Middlesex University Dubai, where they have been since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Visiting Faculty at the same university starting in October 2019. Kanaka has also held roles at Virtual Bodyworks, where they were the Head of Design from January 2019, and previously as a Lead Designer starting in February 2017. Kanaka has worked as a freelance Architect and illustrator since July 2015. Before that, they were an Architect at Externalreference from July 2014 to July 2015, and at Design Plus Architects from September 2010 to 2012. Kanaka gained experience as an Architect at VIVEK SHANKAR DESIGN PARTNERSHIP from November 2009 to October 2010. Additionally, they worked as an INTERN at Design Plus Architects from February 2009 to September 2009. Kanaka started their career as a SUMMER INTERN at S. Ghosh Architects Pvt. Ltd. in June 2006.

Kanaka Raghavan has a diverse education history. In 2004, they obtained a B.ARCH degree in Architecture from SUSHANT SCHOOL OF ART AND ARCHITECTURE. In 2012 to 2013, they pursued a Master's in Advanced Design and Digital Architecture, specializing in Architecture at Elisava - ADDA. They also attended the University School of Design and Engineering of Barcelona for a summer school program in New Materials in Design in 2017. In 2021, Kanaka pursued executive education in Typography at the Royal College of Art. They further enhanced their skills in 2022 by pursuing another executive education program in Editorial Design at the same institution. Additionally, Kanaka holds certifications in Editorial Design and Creative Typography from the Royal College of Art, as well as Duolingo Spanish Fluency Certification at the Intermediate level from Duolingo, obtained in 2016.
