Stephen Deegan

Stephen Deegan is an experienced professional in engineering and public service, currently serving as Housing Activation Manager at Kildare County Council since November 2021. Previously, Stephen held roles as Senior Engineer for Roads Design and Construction at the same council and worked as a Senior Engineer for the Grand Canal Metropolitan at Waterways Ireland. With a strong background in climate action, Stephen has also served as Climate Action Officer at Kildare County Council and as Deputy Chief Executive Officer at the Special Economic Zones Authority of Botswana. Additional experience includes various engineering and management positions at South Dublin County Council and the Local Government Water Services Transition Office, focusing on infrastructure, drainage management, and local government reforms. Stephen holds a Master of Science in Occupational Health and Safety and a Bachelor of Engineering degree, both from University College Dublin.
