Michael Schmitt

Michael Schmitt, AICP CTP, PTP, RSP1, is a Senior Sustainability Consultant at Kimley-Horn, a position held since July 2015. Previously serving as Vice President, Regional Manager, and Senior Project Manager at Kimley-Horn from October 1996 to August 2014, Michael managed over 100 projects and oversaw significant financial and operational responsibilities for the California region. A notable life experience includes living in Gothenburg, Sweden, from August 2014 to June 2015, where Michael focused on family care, embraced car-free urban living, and studied Swedish. Early career experience includes working as a Transportation Planner at Catalina Engineering, contributing to national research projects. Michael holds a Master of Science in Planning and a Bachelor of Science in Regional Development, both from the University of Arizona.
