Sayem Ali, P.E., is an experienced electrical engineer with a focus on substation design and project execution. Currently serving as the Lead Substation Engineer at Kimley-Horn since April 2023, Ali manages an electrical team to enhance substation projects in solar generation, transmission, and distribution sectors. Prior to this role, Ali worked at EVS, Inc. as a Senior Substation Engineer, leading protection & controls and physical design for solar PV interconnect substations. Additional experience includes positions at Black & Veatch and Stanley Consultants, where Ali engineered controls and physical design for distribution substations. Earlier career roles at Cummins Inc., Open Systems International, and Honeywell involved power systems engineering, SCADA project management, and commercial HVAC product development. Ali holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
