George Opela

George Opela has extensive experience in information technology, currently serving as Vice President of IT at Kinder Morgan, Inc. since August 1996. In this role, George oversees technical services, IT infrastructure, network engineering, and field telecommunications. Previous positions at Kinder Morgan include IT Director, where responsibilities spanned database administration, application architecture, and business application support for various applications from 2012 to 2019. George started as IT Manager, focusing on database administration and application architecture, and initially served as a Database Administrator managing Oracle, Sybase, and MS SQL environments. Prior to Kinder Morgan, George worked as IT Manager at Computize from 1994 to 1996. George holds a Master's degree in Systems Engineering from Czech Technical University in Prague, earned between 1988 and 1994.
