Johnny Tapia

Johnny Tapia is an experienced environmental health and safety professional with a strong background in compliance and risk management. Currently serving as a Senior EHS Specialist at Kinder Morgan, Johnny oversees multiple locations across North and South Carolina, managing risks and fostering communication to ensure compliance and support new projects. Previously, Johnny held the position of Regional Environmental Manager at CEMEX, where the focus was on implementing an effective environmental compliance program across numerous locations, and also served as SC Environmental Manager during a post-merger phase. Early career experience includes various roles at the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, handling hazardous waste and stormwater permitting projects. Johnny holds a Master’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering from the University of South Carolina and a degree in Civil Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador.
