James Bergstra

James Bergstra is the Co-Founder and Head of AI Research at Kindred AI. James was previously a Banting Fellow at the University of Waterloo, a Research Scholar at Harvard University, and a Graduate Student at Université de Montréal. James has also worked as a game developer at I-mmersion Studios Inc.

James Bergstra has a Ph.D. in computer science from Université de Montréal and a M.Sc. in artificial intelligence from the same institution. James also has a B.A.Sc. in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo.

James Bergstra’s research focuses on the intersection of machine learning, biological vision, reasoning, and motor control. James has also done research on biologically inspired vision algorithms and deep learning of biologically inspired architectures.

James Bergstra has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Université de Montréal, an M.Sc. in Computer Science from Université de Montréal, and a B.Sc. in Math, Philosophy, Comp Sci from University of Toronto - University of Trinity College. James also has a B.Sc. in Math, Philosophy, Comp Sci from University of Toronto - University of Trinity College and a B.Sc. in Math, Philosophy, Computer Science from University of Toronto.
