Mahmoud Akkawi

Mahmoud Akkawi has extensive experience in the nuclear engineering sector, currently serving as Manager of Advanced Reactor Design at Kinectrics since 2018, where responsibilities include leading design services for small modular reactors and new reactor design technologies. Previous roles at Kinectrics involved managing various teams for balance of plant and nuclear systems engineering, as well as leading a multidisciplinary design team for engineering requests at Bruce Power. Prior to Kinectrics, Mahmoud held positions at Amec Foster Wheeler Nuclear Canada and Amec Nuclear Safety Solutions, focusing on I&C design and project management. Early career experiences include roles at Data Realm Inc., Nemak Inc., and Ford of Canada, complemented by a Master of Applied Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Western University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in the same field from the University of Windsor.
