Lani Oncescu has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several roles and companies.
Starting in 1990, Oncescu served as the Head of the Seismological Department and President of the Scientific Board at the National Institute for Earth Physics. During this time, they established research directions, secured funding, and upgraded seismic data systems.
In 1992, Oncescu worked as a Senior Researcher and Guest Professor at the Geophysical Institute, Karlsruhe University. Here, they developed algorithms for non-linear inverse problems and conducted research on seismic source inversion and velocity tomography.
From 1998 to 1999, Oncescu held the position of Senior Researcher at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. Lani oversaw a national accelerometer network and implemented automated data polling solutions.
