Senior Controls Engineer at Kinetic Pressure Control

Steve Beckman has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Steve is currently working as a Senior Controls Engineer at Kinetic Pressure Control, a position they have held since 2022. Prior to this, they were an Electrical Controls Engineer at National Service Alliance - Houston, A Quad Plus Company from 2019 to 2022, where they developed and maintained PLC programs for Siemens and Allen-Bradley controllers in the electric frac pump market. Steve also configured Hitachi and ABB medium and low voltage VFDs and conducted commissioning and field trials at customer sites. From 2011 to 2019, Steve worked at Cameron, a Schlumberger company, as a Controls Engineer. Steve was responsible for developing PLC and HMI code for controlling drilling equipment on offshore and land based drilling rigs, including mud pumps, top drives, rotary tables, and drawworks. Steve also programmed AC Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for drilling equipment. Prior to this, Steve worked at SnapStream Media as a Software Engineer, where they were involved in developing and maintaining unit tests and testing utilities in Visual C# and installing and maintaining a continuous integration system. Steve was also a Software Engineer at Schlumberger from 2007 to 2009, where they developed Visual C++ Windows-based software for data quality management of upstream oil and gas databases. In addition to this, Steve has experience as a Lab Supervisor at DeVry University, where they managed the operation of various labs and performed budgetary functions. Steve started their career at Hewlett-Packard as a Software Engineer, where they developed programs in x86 assembly and designed programs for validating AGP and 66 MHz PCI subsystems. Steve also developed Windows NT drivers for proprietary test cards. Prior to their career in the private sector, Steve served as a Volunteer / Computer Advisor for the Peace Corps from 1992 to 1995.

Steve Beckman received their Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology from Texas A&M University, where they studied from 1986 to 1991. Steve later pursued a Master of Business Administration degree in Business from Devry University between 2005 and 2007.
