Bernt van Den Blink

Bernt van den Blink has a diverse work experience in the field of clinical development and translational medicine. Bernt currently holds the position of Head of Clinical Development at Kinevant Sciences since October 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Clinical Development and Translational Medicine Consultant at VDB BioPharma Consulting since July 2022.

Before transitioning into consulting roles, Bernt served as a Clinical Development Leader at Galapagos from January 2021 to June 2022. During this time, they played a significant role in the development and execution of clinical studies.

Bernt also has experience working as a Senior Medical Director at Promedior Inc. from March 2016 to December 2020. Bernt'snotable achievements include leading successful Phase 2 studies and contributing to the development of a pivotal Phase 3 study in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) and Myelofibrosis.

From 2007 to 2018, Bernt worked as a Pulmonologist at Erasmus MC, where they specialized in Interstitial Lung Diseases and conducted clinical trials. Bernt also held leadership responsibilities and conducted research related to Pulmonary Fibrosis, Sarcoidosis, and Pulmonary Hypertension.

Bernt has served in various guideline committees and working groups throughout their career, including the European Respiratory Society and the Dutch Society of Pulmonologists. Bernt has also been recognized for their contributions through fellowships and grants from organizations such as the European Society for Organ Transplantation and the American College of Chest Physicians.

Earlier in their career, Bernt obtained a PhD degree and MD degree from AMC, where they conducted pre-clinical and early-phase clinical studies in inflammatory diseases and signal transduction.

Bernt van den Blink holds an MD PhD degree in Medicine from the University of Amsterdam. Bernt also has a background in Pulmonology from Erasmus University Rotterdam. In addition to their educational degrees, they have obtained several certifications including Basiscursus Regelgeving en Organisatie Klinisch wetenschappelijk onderzoek (BROK) in 2014, University Teaching Qualification (Basiskwalificatie Onderwijs) from Erasmus MC University Medical Center in 2013, and Good Clinical Practice in 2010.
