Yan Gao

Yan Gao currently serves as an Executive Analyst in the Office of Performance, Strategy, and Budget for King County, WA, beginning in January 2023. Previously, Yan worked as a Policy and Budget Strategic Advisor for the City of Seattle, leading efforts to integrate racial equity principles into various regulatory processes while managing an $11 million divisional budget. Earlier experience includes serving as a Budget Advisor to the Governor of Washington, where oversight was provided for $1.3 billion in IT project investments, and as an Engagement Manager in the State of Arizona's Enterprise Technology Office, managing a $146 million IT development budget. Yan also held a position as a Budget Analyst in the Governor’s Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting in Arizona, overseeing a $1.5 billion budget portfolio. Academic credentials include a Master of Public Administration from Syracuse University's Maxwell School and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from UC San Diego, graduating Cum Laude.
