Shabnam Nolan

Executive Director at King Street Center

Shabnam Nolan currently serves as the Executive Director of King Street Center since October 2021. Previously, Shabnam held the position of Communications Director at the ACLU of Vermont from February 2019 to October 2021 and was the KIDS COUNT Director at Voices for Virginia's Children from August 2016 to February 2019, focusing on child welfare data and communications. Prior to that, Shabnam worked as the Child Health Insurance Program Manager at the Virginia Health Care Foundation, overseeing outreach and enrollment efforts. Experience also includes roles as Policy Associate and Outreach & Project Coordinator at Voices for Vermont's Children, where Shabnam advocated for children and coordinated initiatives to improve dental care access, and as Research Graduate Assistant at the Center for Rural Studies, University of Vermont. Shabnam holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from James Madison University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Vermont.

King Street Center

King Street Center is a non-profit community center in the heart of the south end of Burlington, Vermont. Founded in 1971, King Street has served Burlington families for over five decades by providing quality programming for youth ages 18 months through 18 years. We offer a 5-STAR Toddler & Preschool program, Afterschool Excellence program for youth in grades K-5, and a Teen Futures program for grades 6-12. King Street Center is also home to mentoring, tutoring and other volunteer opportunities.
