Bolormaa Luvsandorj

Bolormaa Luvsandorj is the founder of BODHI FINANCIAL ADVISORY SERVICES LLC (BODHI) and is based in Ulaanbaatar.

BODHI provides comprehensive advisory services in relation to risk management, origination of new private and public financing and impact funding.

Bolormaa has worked in the financial markets for over 20 years. Prior to founding BODHI, she was a CEO of Golomt Financial Group, one of the largest financial groups in Mongolia, First Deputy CEO / Chief Investment Officer of Golomt Bank, First Deputy CEO of the Development Bank of Mongolia (the DBM).

Bolormaa was a Senior Risk Manager within the Risk Management team at Deutsche Bank in NY and Tokyo where she held a number of roles including portfolio risk manager for North American Banks, broker dealers and finance companies.

During her long career in banking and finance she was responsible for managing a diverse spectrum of private and public entities. In particular, she was responsible for the inaugural bond issuance of the Development Bank of Mongolia, Oulen Bond, setting the path for the wave of sovereign bond issuances including Chingis Bond, where she advised the Minister of Economic Development.

During her tenure the DBM expanded their international reach with the US-EXIM, KIA, Kuwait Development Fund, China Development Bank and others.

She worked on turn-around management of Golomt Bank resolving their dispute with a reputable sovereign fund in the Middle East, restored the bank’s credit ratings, and expanded its international network bringing global banks such as SMBC, JPM, Hungarian EXIM, OPIC, Export Development Canada, IIB, IBEC, Trafigura (etc), and worked with them to develop and implement optimal financial and risk solutions.

Bolormaa served as a member of Emerging Market Advisory Council at International Institute of Finance (IIF, 2016).

She served on several boards as an independent director including Mongolian Stock Exchange (May 2010-2011), Development Bank of Mongolia (Nov 2010- April 2011). She currently serves board member of Golomt Bank.

Her specialties include origination and structuring of debt transactions, solutions for commodities and currency derivatives. She is the founder of Developing Entrepreneurial Mongolia NBFI and Kite Mongolia, the first social entrepreneurship accelerator in Mongolia successfully launching start-ups in Mongolia in edu-tech and green-tech.

Bolormaa has an MBA from International University of Japan (ADB- JSP Scholarship) and a MA in Virginia Tech, USA (USAID scholarship).
