Jack Fonss

Jack owns and operates True Return Systems LLC (“TRS”), a New York area financial technology consulting firm engaged in exchange traded funds, cryptocurrencies, and blockchain platforms. Jack is an inventor and a holder of patents directed at blockchains, securities exchange middleware systems, and retail trading solutions.

TRS has engagements with some of the world’s largest asset managers and leaders in disruptive financial technologies. Recently, TRS has pioneered the use of blockchain-based non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to buy and sell patents and other intellectual property. Within its portfolio, TRS owns foundational patents directed at the integration of off-chain data within distributed blockchain systems.

At Deutsche Bank, Jack held senior positions in financial institutions coverage, and Jack managed structuring and trading groups in both the fixed income and equity divisions. Over approximately 10 years at DB, Jack structured and executed major transactions for DB and its clients across the fixed income and equity divisions. As part of a worldwide reorganization to rationalize the DB’s structuring resources, Jack organized and co-managed DB-New York’s North American Structuring team. In later years, Jack ran the equity derivatives corporate structuring business in New York, where his team specialized in creating client solutions with optimized fiscal, accounting, and trading results.

Following Deutsche Bank, Jack organized and led the fintech startup AccuShares Asset Management in Connecticut. AccuShares developed and patented a range of funds management and trading solutions which remain in use at many of the world’s largest brokerage firms.

In addition to his roles at Deutsche Bank, Jack has held management, trading, structuring and sales roles at UBS Securities, and Credit Suisse in the U.S.

Jack began his career in finance at McKinsey & Company in New York.

Jack has an undergraduate degree in Economics from Princeton University, and a master’s degree in Public and Private Management from the Yale University School of Management.
