Nahid Bhadelia is an infectious diseases physician and the current Director of Infection Control and Medical Response at National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories. Nahid is also an Associate Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine.
Bhadelia has been working in the field of infectious diseases for over 20 years. Nahid began their career as an infectious diseases physician at Boston Medical Center (BMC). After five years at BMC, they became the Senior Policy and Technical Advisor at Partners In Health, where they worked for two years. In 2011, they joined National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories as the Director of Infection Control and Medical Response.
In their current role, Bhadelia is responsible for leading the clinical and IPC teams at JMEDICC. Nahid has also served as an advisor to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and the Center for Emerging Infectious Diseases Policy & Research (CEID).
Bhadelia received their medical degree from Tufts University - The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. Nahid completed their residency in internal medicine at Boston University's National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories and their fellowship in infectious diseases at The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine.
Nahid Bhadelia received their Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Tufts University School of Medicine. Nahid then went on to earn a Masters of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University. Nahid also holds a Certificate in Clinical Effectiveness from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Her undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science (BS) from Tufts University.
